July 15, 2019

The Ministry of Culture and Sports announced the opening of the participation in the 30th Doha International Book Fair, which will be held from 9 to 18 January 2020.

The Ministry launched the registration process for the participation in the Book Fair through its website, www.dohabookfair.qa, amid expectations of an increase in the number of participants in the upcoming edition, compared to the previous session, in light of the outstanding momentum gained by this annual event, as it proceeds toward its 30th anniversary, and the confidence it enjoys amid Arab and foreign publishers, being the largest Arab and international book fair held in the region.

The official website of the Doha International Book Fair allows publishing houses, libraries, cultural institutions, research centres, companies, universities, international organizations and ministries to submit their applications, after fulfilling the conditions of participation as defined on the website.

It was decided that November 10, 2019 will be the deadline for receiving applications; 21 November will be the deadline for receiving subscription fees, while November 24 will be the deadline for receiving the delegates’ passports.

8 December, 2019 was set as the date for the start of receiving book parcels, which will be concluded on 26 December, provided that the exhibition hall will be vacated on 20 January, 2020.

It is worth noting that the upcoming edition of the Doha International Book Fair will be held under the auspices of the Qatar Center for Cultural and Heritage Events. The centre will dedicate all available resources to ensure the success and excellence of the forthcoming Doha International Book Fair, which holds a prestigious reputation in the region, reflected by the increasing participation of Arab and foreign countries, since its first edition in 1972.
